It all started with a father’s dream. Jean Desjoyaux, a skilled tile mason in commercial construction, wanted to build a pool where his three young children could splash, swim, and make summer memories at their family’s home in southern France. What began as a personal project quickly caught the attention of neighbors — then more neighbors — and before long, a pool-building legacy was born.
After years of working with traditional pool construction methods like tiled block walls, wood-framed pools, fiberglass shells, and gunite structures, Jean knew there had to be a better, more efficient way to build pools. His search for a smarter solution led to a revolutionary breakthrough.
In 1978, he patented an active casing concrete wall system, setting a new standard for structural durability. Just a few years later, in 1983, the game-changing mono-block pipeless filtration system was introduced — a compact, efficient alternative that eliminated complex plumbing and cut down on maintenance.
Today, this innovation has made waves around the globe. With more than 225,000 pools installed in over 80 countries, Desjoyaux has grown into a global leader in pool technology, backed by a network of over 400 dealers worldwide.
